Gibraltar Rugby are pleased to announce the appointment of the Gibraltar Development Team management for the upcoming match against the Finland Development Team on Friday 7th April. This match is a precursor to the International Rugby Match (Gibraltar v Finland) on Saturday 8th April. Kim Oliver (Head Coach), Scott Kay (Asst Coach) and Hamish Couper (Team Mngr) will be assembling a squad of players in the lead up to the development match with fixtures on the 11th and 18th March.
Kim Oliver (Head Coach) has represented England Women’s Rugby Team (43 England caps). After retiring from rugby she commenced coaching at Bath Rugby as a Community Rugby Coach, she has also coached South West England (Women’s U18’s) as Backs Coach and was Head Coach for Bath Ladies Rugby before moving to Gibraltar in Sept 2015. Kim is an accredited RFU Level 2 rugby coach.
Scott Kay (Assistant Coach) has spent time playing and coaching in the Yorkshire leagues. He has played and coached within the set up at Ampthill Rugby (National 1 Competition) and has represented the Int Corps at both 10’s and 15’s. Scott is currently the Coach of the Inline Framing Sharks and is undertaking his RFU Level 2 coaching accreditation.
Hamish Couper (Team Manager) has been a stalwart member of Gibraltar National Squad since 2011 (5 Gibraltar caps) until his retirement from international rugby in 2016. He has represented Hawkes Bay School Boys, Taradale RFC (New Zealand) and London New Zealand RFC and London Scottish (UK). Hamish has played rugby in Gibraltar since 2008 for the Ibex Buccaneers and the Barbarians.
